Me and my big brother...
...this is my big brother... my "bubby" as I so affectionally refer to him as... ...he is ten years older than me... and when I was little, I was told I tried to follow him around, but he was going into those teenage years, and who wanted a little sister following them everywhere... ...but I loved him, and he loved me... ...and with being ten years apart, you really do not "hang" with your brother like a lot of folks do, but it was funny... ...even though we were not "close" when growing up, now, as adults, we share so many of the same likes... ...we both love to take pictures of outdoors, buildings, flowers, plants, and such... ...we both are interested in rock hunting and collecting, and polishing rocks... ...we both collect old maps (that was really strange to see the old maps hanging on his wall in his "computer" room, especially seeing one identical to one I had... ...we both enjoy reading... we both like to read... ...both of us enjoy being at home and really do not venture far from our homes... ...but I am comforted and secure in knowing that when I pick up the phone, I know he will be at the other end to help me with any problem, to talk, or to just be there... ...and when we "leave" each other, whether it be when he leaves my house or mine his, or when we are on the phone talking, we always say... "I love you...I love you, too... he's the best...

Researching surnames from East Texas right now, i.e. Green, Hinson, McLeod, Cooper, Patterson, and will come back on and update this later. I am mainly coming to this site by recommendation as I have lots of old pictures that I would like to share with others and will be scanning and uploading to this site for that reason.

I'm a Founder of AncientFaces and support the community answering questions & helping members make connections to the past (thus my official title of Founder & Content and Community Support ). For me, it's been a labor of love for over 20 years. I truly believe with all of my heart that everyone should be remembered for generations to come. I am 2nd generation San Jose and have seen a lot of changes in the area while growing up. We used to be known as the "Valley of Heart's Delight" (because the Valley was covered with orchards and there were many canneries to process the food grown here, which shipped all over the US) - now we have adopted the nickname "Capital of Silicon Valley" and Apple, Ebay, Adobe, Netflix, Facebook, and many more tech companies are within a few miles of my current home in San Jose (including AncientFaces). From a small town of 25,000, we have grown to 1 million plus. And when you add in all of the communities surrounding us (for instance, Saratoga, where I attended high school, living a block from our previous Mayor), we are truly one of the big cities in the US. I am so very proud of my hometown. For more information see Kathy - Founder & Content and Community Director
My family began AncientFaces because we believe that unique photos and stories that show who people are/were should be shared with the world.
