mystery man

Joseph Sebastian Burkell Sr went on a trip out west in the early 1900's (possibly 1910) with a friend who was rumored to be a reporter for one of the Detroit, Michigan newspapers. We do not know this man's name and if he worked for a newspaper, which one.

I think he is a Detroit Newspaper reporter - the story I heard is that Grandpa Burkell and his friend (the reporter)took this trip together and that there may be an article in one of the Detroit papers back then. (prior to 1916?)
