Pearl Pooler
I have two old studio photographs of Pearl POOLER which were both taken at studios in Brooklyn, NY. Both appear to have been taken in the early 1900's with one dated Christmas 1908. Both appear to have been gifts "To Lena" from Pearl. I would guess that Pearl was in her 20's or 30's at the time the photographs were taken. The photographs were recovered with photographs mostly from Jefferson County, NY and specifically Watertown, NY. I believe that these are photographs of Maude Pearl POOLER and have been able to gather the following information regarding Pearl and her family:

Maude or Maud Pearl POOLER was b. 24 Nov 1887 or 25 Nov 1893 in Carthage, NY to parents William Japheth POOLER (1846-1931) and Mary Elizabeth TUCKER or GIBBONS (1852-1936). Pearl was one of 7 children born to this couple including Wellington J.; Edward; Bernard A.; Nina Belle; Lee Gerald; Frederick Blaine; and Maude or Maud Pearl POOLER, all born between 1868 and 1887 or 1888. Pearl married George Hugh CARROLL (1886-1950) on 18 Sept 1915 in Watertown, NY and they had four children including Edwin or Edward Wells or William; George Hugh; Robert Justin; and Joseph Patrick “Pat” CARROLL, all born between 1916 and 1933. Pearl died 8 Dec 1977 in Jefferson Co., NY.

I am hoping to locate someone from Pearl’s family so that the photographs can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me.

Thanks,
Shelley

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth. So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her. For more information about what we're building see About AncientFaces. My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
