Richard Thomson
I have an old studio photograph of Richard THOMSON which was taken at the T. J. Rice Studio in Rockport, MO in the 1870's or 1880's. Richard appears to be in his 20's or 30's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Richard and his family:

Richard THOMSON was b. 10 or 14 Apr 1853 in Canada to parents William A. THOMSON (1820-1896) and Martha Lynn THOMSON (1826-1899). Richard was one of 9 children born to this couple including Richard; Jane “Jennie”; Steven or Stephen L.; Ann or Annie Hope; William Alfred; Matilda “Tillie”; Alice Mary; Agnes; and Samuel THOMSON, all born between 1853 and 1873. Richard immigrated to the USA in 1875 and married Louisa RODE or VOLKER (1854-1929) in 1877 and they had a daughter Gertrude or Gertrud Alice THOMSON RANKIN (1881-1968).

Richard died 18 Jan 1930 in Tarkio, MO and is buried in the Tarkio Home Cemetery there.

I’s like to get this photograph back to a family member and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
