Richard Uniack South High School

Richard Thomas “Dick” Uniack Jr. was born on June 20, 1926 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio to parents Richard John Uniack (1901-1954) and Helen Krapinski (1906-1991). He had one sister, Laverne H Uniack Ponchock (1930-1972). He was a 1944 graduate of South High School in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He was part of Hi-Y as Vice-President; Varsity "S" Club, Varsity Football, Varsity Basketball, and A Cappella, Small Ensemble. As a young 20 year old, he worked as a Representative Salesman for a Maker and Center of Diapers in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, USA. Richard enlisted on August 18, 1944 in Fort Benjamin in Harrison Indiana and served in the US Army from August 18, 1944 until July 2, 1946. He married Florence Podsiadlo (1928-2015). The couple lived in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, USA and he worked as a truck driver.
