Wow...what an awesome photo! Anyone else appreciate the older photos as they themselves get older? I guess as youngsters, we don't/can't appreciate the history and the hard times older photos show.
Linda Vance, on this one, I used a simple little program called Microsoft Picture It. I did this with just one click. It doesn't work well on all pictures, but I'm grateful when it DOES work!
and for those who mention of their love for old photos....I have the same intense passion for them. I hope it's OK to share here; wrote this poem about them...
Mary, that is beautiful. I am a genealogist as are many of us who follow this site. Your poem reflects such joy at the event of a photo but our rushing lives and the assumption that no one will forget.....sad to say it happens to all of us. We need to love our family and friends enough to post in pencil who, what, when, where on back of photos. Otherwise we all will have a big "box on the shelf". 💖💫
Oh, my. I just saw all these lovely comments. I really appreciate them. I was inspired to write this one day after several people had said to me during the week, "oh, I know I have pictures you would like to see, but they are in a box and most are not identified." I makes me sad that there is just so much history hidden in closets, under beds, and in sheds. Y'all touched my heart. Thank you all.
From checking the 1900 census, I find them in Aleppo, Greene County, Pennsylvania. I believe this picture to be late 1890's to 1900. Possibly the Rush Log House, on Rush Run (Crouse Schoolhouse) in Center Township, Greene County PA

Possibly the Rush Log House, on Rush Run (Crouse Schoolhouse) in Center Township, Greene County PA. Also noticed from the deer hides hanging in the tree behind them that this picture may have been from a hunting trip in the fall.
