Stephen Grover Cleveland
Stephen Grover Cleveland was the 22nd and 24th President of the United States and is the only president to serve two non-consecutive terms. He was born on March 18, 1837, in Caldwell, New Jersey, to Richard Falley Cleveland and Ann Neal Cleveland. Richard Cleveland, his father, was a Presbyterian minister and his mother, Ann, was the daughter of a publisher. Stephen was one of nine children in the family, with five sisters and three brothers. Cleveland had a modest upbringing and spent his early years in upstate New York. Despite not having a formal education, he was a voracious reader and self-educated. Throughout his life, Cleveland was known for his honesty and commitment to public service, serving as a sheriff, mayor, governor, and ultimately, president of the United States.
