The school pony cart went around to all the Hertel farms to pick up the school children every morning, and took them home every afternoon. The pony knew exactly where to go without someone to direct him. The school got it's name because only Hertel children attended there.

The pony cart was sent out by the teacher every school morning to pick all the children up who went to that school. He was trained to know his route without anyone directing him. In the afternoon, he took all the kids back home, and then went back to the school where he stayed over night.
