The Tiger Tail Tavern - FOUND! Thank you! 10/13/2023
Photo of the Tiger Tail Tavern. This photo was found in the possessions of Ruth Lansaw. My mother thinks this place had some meaning for her Uncle Philip "Nip" Voll, which should put it in Wabash County if she is correct. Possibly in Vermilion County if it was taken a little later in Philip's lifetime.

Can anyone tell me where this tavern was located and/or who the proprietors were?
Date & Place: at Tiger Tail Tavern, in Homosassa County FL, United States

DJ does not recognize the Tiger Tail. DJ assumes this is from Wabash area as doesn’t recall any bar in Danville with this architecture. He does recall going to a bar downtown Danville with uncle Frank and his mom about 1941 - maybe someone’s birthday? He was only there one time. He was too little to sit on a barstool so they actually set him on the bar. Funny memory- thanks DJ!
Tiger Tail Tavern (that photo) was located in Homosassa, Florida.

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth. So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her. For more information about what we're building see About AncientFaces. My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.
