Young unknown boy dressed as a zouave. A zouave uniform included short open-front jackets, sashes & baggy trousers. This title was originally given to light infantry regiments in the French army between 1830-1960, but was also adopted during the American Civil War.

I found this photo in my late1890's family photo album...unidentified child, but when I saw this photo posted, it reminded me of mine. Does anyone think this is a military style outfit on this (I think) girl child?

Civil War photo. Hudson NY had such company, did research. Fashion of the day!
Yes, Bunny, the Zouave soldiers wore this kind of uniform. There were over 70 Union Zouave regiments in the Civil War.

So adorable
There was a Zuoave unit that came out of the Philadelpahia, Pa area. The 114th PA. If you google it you can find out more on the regiment. My gggrandfather and his brother where part of the band with the unit. A cousin has one of their uniforms. It is very colorful with bright red pants. Trust me, any mother would have wanted a picture of their child in that..sadly its not in color.

He was Puerto Rican child who mother was white and father was puerto rican with spaniard and Somalia blood lines. As you can see he is a Soldier at a early age for his father disappeared from his mother and his life. He always saw thZbigniewe real man in his father who was his King and he only knew his dad to be a man of no patience for Mistakes and definitely no tolerance for any kind of harm to his children or family. He stood for his believes and no doubt would never walk away from protecting his family or a fight to keep what he worked hard for. He disappeared and it let his little man doing what he learned from his father. Thats standing up and ready for fight to protect his mom and sister. As you can see he was born to be a savage and soldier of love as his father taught him to be.
The way his stance and his hand on his no non sense weaponry blade sayz it all to me.
