Vincent John Maddux's father was John William Maddux (1865 - 1936) and his mother was Julia Pate O'Dell (1876 - 1913). They were both born in Missouri. He had siblings Benjamin, Ethel, and David.
When Vincent was 4, he and his parents and siblings (Benjamin, Ethel, and David) were living in Knoxville, Missouri. Dad was a farmer.
Vincent married Lyndall M Ellis on May 16, 1923, in Jackson Missouri.
Almost 40 years later, Vincent and Lyndall were living with her mother, Laura, and their children Betty and Bill, in San Gabriel, California, on Hellman Avenue. Vincent owned a pool hall. He was 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighed 210 pounds, and had gray eyes and brown hair, with a light complexion.
When Vincent J. Maddux was 54, he was still married to Lyndall M. Ellis, and they were living with Lyndall's mother, Laura K. Ellis, in Monterey Park, Los Angeles County, California. Vincent still owned the pool hall. See a photo of the pool hall at Vince's Snooker Parlor, California
Vincent was a Private in the United States Army and he enlisted on November 7 1918 and was discharged on December 16, 1918. Because of his service, he and Lyndall are buried in Los Angeles National Cemetery, Los Angeles, California. See Vincent J Maddux Gravesite

I'm a Founder of AncientFaces and support the community answering questions & helping members make connections to the past (thus my official title of Founder & Content and Community Support ). For me, it's been a labor of love for over 20 years. I truly believe with all of my heart that everyone should be remembered for generations to come.
I am 2nd generation San Jose and have seen a lot of changes in the area while growing up. We used to be known as the "Valley of Heart's Delight" (because the Valley was covered with orchards and there were many canneries to process the food grown here, which shipped all over the US) - now we have adopted the nickname "Capital of Silicon Valley" and Apple, Ebay, Adobe, Netflix, Facebook, and many more tech companies are within a few miles of my current home in San Jose (including AncientFaces). From a small town of 25,000, we have grown to 1 million plus. And when you add in all of the communities surrounding us (for instance, Saratoga, where I attended high school, living a block from our previous Mayor), we are truly one of the big cities in the US.
