Walter P. Thorn

I have an old studio photograph of Walter P. THORN which was taken at the W. J. Newell Studio in Lawrence, MA. Walter appears to be about 10-12 years old at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited information I was able to gather the following information regarding Walter and his family:

Walter Priestly THORN was b. 25 Nov 1864 in Lawrence, MA to parents Almon C. THORN or THORNE (1836-1914) and Hannah Jane HALL (1842-1891) who were married 5 Oct 1862 in Holderness, NH. Walter had three siblings including Francis E.; Bertha M.; and Sarah “Sadie” V. THORN, all born between 1864 and 1871.

Walter married Caroline “Carrie” Belle or Bell DUBOIS (1868-1958) on 29 Nov 1888 in Lawrence, MA. The couple had three children including Almon Burton; Mabelle or Maybelle or Mabel Annie; and Marion E. THORN, all born between 1890 and 1898. Walter was a Drugstore Owner, Elevatorman, and Town Clerk.

Walter died 23 Dec 1954 in St. Johnsbury or Peacham, VT and is buried there in the Peacham Village Cemetery.

I am hoping to find a member of Walter’s family so that the photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me.
