I reside in the beautiful hills of WV, and a new inductee into the genealogy world. I am a Bowyer (maiden name), and my grandmother was a Ratliff......so I am researching the Bowyer, & Ratliff/Ratcliffe/Ratclyffe and Radclyffe names. My mother is a Brooks, so info on the Brooks and Dowdy's of WV are also of interest to me. My Ratliff grandmother was from Grundy, VA. Father was Alexander Rufus Ratliff, mother was Mary Jane Deskins. My grandfather was Earnest Shields Bowyer who married Julia Caroline Ratliff.
