I have two old studio photographs which I believe both belong to the HUNTER Family of Des Moines, IA. The first is a photograph identified as Willie, Emily, and Pansy HUNTER which was taken at the Kramer Studio in Des Moines, IA in the 1890's with the three children likely about 2 to 8 years old at the time. The second photograph is identified only as "Mamie" or "Mermie". This photograph is of a woman in her 20's and was likely taken in the 1880's or 1890's at the same Kramer Studio in Des Moines, IA.

Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this HUNTER Family:

Emily Marguerita HUNTER was b. Aug 1888 to parents David HUNTER (1846-1918) and Muriella “Mermie” Jane Ann FRY (1858-1926). Emily was one of 6 children born to this couple including William “Willie” B. F.; Emily Marguerita; Muriella Susan “Pansy”; Martha May; Pluma Catherine; and Baby HUNTER, all born between 1885 and 1899. Emily died 4 Jun 1943 and is buried in the Woodland Cemetery in Des Moines, IA. It doesn’t appear that Emily or her siblings in this photograph ever married or had children.

Her brother Willie was b. 30 Jun 1885 in Des Moines, IA and died 21 Dec 1906 and is buried in the same cemetery as his sister Emily.

Her sister Pansy was b. Jun 1893 in Des Moines, IA and died in 1960 and is buried in the Lowman Cemetery in Runnells, IA.

Their mother Muriella Jane Ann FRY was b. 1858 in Ireland and arrived in the USA at the age of 15 in 1881.

I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that these wonderful old photographs can be returned to the care of a family member.

Thanks,
Shelley
