Marion and Evelyn MATTHEWS
I have in my possession an old photograph of Marion and Evelyn MATTHEWS which was taken at the Henry Frey Studio in Scranton, PA in the 1880's. The two girls appear to be about 2-3 years old at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this family:
Mary “Marion” Elizabeth MATTHEWS was b. April 1885 in Pennsylvania to parents Walter Littell MATTHEWS (1863-1944) and Jessie Evelyn HARRIS DAVIS (1861-1961). Marion was one of 5 children born to this couple including Mary “Marion” Elizabeth; Evelyn Louise; Jessie Elinor or Eleanor; Hilda; and Walter Little or Littell MATTHEWS, all born between 1885 and 1895. Marion married Henry J. CONNELLY or CONNOLLY (1883-1969) and they had two children including Hilda Louise or Louice CONNELLY or CONNOLLY HARRIS (1912-2003) and Winifred of Winnifred CONNELLY or CONNOLLY (b. 1914).
Marion died 8 Sept 1946 in Scranton, PA and is buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Dunmore, PA.
Evelyn Louise MATTHEWS was b. 29 Jun 1886 in Pennsylvania to the same parents and died 15 Dec 1969 in Clarks Summit, PA and is buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Dunmore, PA.
