Garrison School class, 1968-69, gr 4/5, named
This is a class from Garrison School, 1968-69. The teachers are Miss Kinkaid (dark hair) and Nettie Thompson. Please see the other photos I've posted with the same teacher/s at the same school, different years (look under special collections, School Days). Two are id.ed as 4th and 5th grades, so I presume the others are also due to the same teachers. I have posted all the names below, starting with front row left to right, then middle row if any, then back row. This photo was part of a lot of photos received from a person in Kansas, who got them from another person who collected them from numerous estate sales throughout Kansas and Oklahoma.
I did a web search for a Garrison School in Kansas or Oklahoma and there seem to be several. I have written to one. There are also others across the US and Canada. I can't guarantee which one it might be. If anyone can tell me, I would be delighted. I hope the names will give a clue to someone. I have also listed 2 children at the end of the list, who were absent on photo day, as they might help to i.d. the school. One of them was "transferred to Cleaveland School" which implies that the two schools were in the same district or at least well known to each other.
(I believe Miss Kinkaid was the main teacher and Ms Thompson was the secondary as a couple of the photos were ordered "Kinkaid 22")

His adopters managed to avoid census takers and there is no sign of him until 1900 when he was working on the Van Duzen ranch. His name might not really be Elroy Elwin Mcknight but something else all together.He married twice, the last being to Jennie Petersen. One of his sons Earl Lester Mcknight was my Grandfather.
