On the back is written: Newton Patrick, Born May 7, 1852, Died Jan 1930; Martha Dalrymple Patrick, Born Feb. 10, 1855, Died Oct 9, 1905. It appears they were both born in Ala., and migrated to Hopkins Co., Texas.

Rescued from an estate sale in Longview, Texas. Mrs. W. L. Pickens, Died Mar 5, 1891. Mr W. L. Pickens, a 70-yr-old widow is listed as father-in-law in the household of W. W. and Mary E. Penn in the 1900 Hopkins Co., TX census. From the photos found, there seem to be connections to the Stephen and Mary McKay Penn family of Ala. and TX, and the Newton and Martha Dalrymple Patrick families.
