2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

Eleanor wed on June 4,1932 in Williamstown, Mass. to Richard Cheatham Plater, Jr. b. May 20,1908 in Nashville, TN. and d. Dec.25,2004 in Thibodaux, La. They had 2 sons, Ormonde Plater and David Dunboyne Plater. A photo seen by this writer of Eleanor ( sometimes her 1st name was spelled Eleanore. On her gravestone in Williamstown, Mass., her 1st name is spelled Eleanore. So, records on her spell her 1st name both ways. While it cannot be proven, maybe she preferred the spelling with an "e" at the end when Eleanor Roosevelt became First Lady in 1933. ) when she was about 20 and she looked a bit like Margaret Truman, the daughter of President Harry S. Truman. Her connection to this writer via Prof. Frederic Leake alone is half first cousin twice removed.
