Mary Agnes Oldfield's parents were George Washington Oldfield (1845 - 1924) and Lucy Ellen "Ella" Smith (1861 - 1926). she had siblings Phebe, Ethel, ChaRles and Merritt. Mary married Charles Augustus Wandling (1876 - 1942) and they had children Merritt, Marilyn, and Jimmy, and Sally Ann.

George W Oldfield's father was John J. Oldfield, born 1816 in Pennsylvania, and his mother was Sarah Ann Walker Fogle Oldfield (1828 - 1845). He had siblings Elizabeth, Louisa, Farmer, Amanda, Margot, John, and Nathan. When George was two, he was living with his parents and siblings Elizabeth, Mary, Farmer, and Amanda in Green, Ohio. His dad was a blacksmith. Fifty years later, George was living in Marengo Iowa with wife Ellen, to whom he had been married for 14 years. In the household were son Charles and daughter Mary A and Ethel. Anna Lauser was a boarder in the house as was John Jacob. George was married 3 times, first to Martha Ann Walker Oldfield (91846 - 1953). They had children Eliza, John, Allie, Edmond, Almon, Phebe and James. He then married Lucy E. Smith (1861 - 1926) and they had children Ethel, Charles, Merritt, and Mary Agnes. When he died, he was married to Ellen (1860 - 1926) and they had Phebe, Charles, and Mary A. George was a veteran of the Civil War and belonged to the GAR (the Grand Army of the Republic) which was composed of veterans of the Union Army.
