My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Elmer Gene Holbrook, age 79 of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He was born May 6, 1938 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to the late Willie & Ocie Hughes Holbrook. He was the husband of Virginia Jean Sturgill Holbrook and the late Ernestine Miller Holbrook. He was a retired mechanic and member of Toms Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Along with his wife he is survived by his Son: William Holbrook of Dana, Kentucky; Daughters: Debbie Allen of Winchester, Kentucky & Jean Carol Prater of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; Brothers: Willie Holbrook Jr. of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, John Henry Holbrook of David, Kentucky, Bobby Dean Holbrook of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Donald Douglas Holbrook of Prestonsburg, Kentucky & James Ellis Holbrook of Salyersville, Kentucky; Sister: Alice Faye Holbrook of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; 6 Grandchildren: Carrie Campbell, Terence Prater, William Holbrook II, David Matthew Holbrook, Warnie Allen Jr. & Desirae Caudill; 11 Great Grandchildren. Along with his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by his Brothers & Sisters: Delmer B. Holbrook, Edward Holbrook, Myrtle Ann Leedy & Brenda Kaye Holbrook. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Biography
Frederick was an early setteler of the town of Concord Wisconsin coming from Connecticut in the year 1848. He lived in Concord until 1867 and then went on to the town of Sullivan and settled on a farm adjoining the village until his death. He was an active member of the Methodist Faith

Frederick was also the step father of Caroline Lake Quiner, Laura Ingalls Wilders, mother. In essence he was Laura's Grandfather.

He died 11 February 1874 and was buried in the Hoffman Cemetery in Rome, Jefferson County, Wisconsin

HOLBROOK - Freddie J. Holbrook aged 74 of Dorr passed away peacefully at home with his family Sunday October 9, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Connie, children Melodie (Paul) Niemczyk, Mike (Tammy) Holbrook, Melissa (David Lanning) Holbrook, Monica (Paul) McClung, grandchildren Dustin (Heather) Niemczyk, Diggy (Carla) Niemczyk, Dylan Niemczyk, Michaela Niemczyk, Ryan (Jamie) Holbrook, Nicholas and Jacob Holbrook, Riley Holbrook, Vinnie and Kobe McClung, Jacob Carter, great grandchildren Hudson and Roman Holbrook and Lewis and Levi Niemczyk. Freddie was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. After four years in the Air Force as an air traffic controller, Fred was a member of the Grand Rapids Police Department for four years and the Wyoming Police Department for 11 years. He then was the proud owner of Hilliards General Store for 25 years. During his 10 years of retirement, his time was spent mowing his grass, spending time with grandchildren and feeding his birds. Parish rosary will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday October 12, 2011 at St. Stanislaus Church with Fr. Anthony Bitchapogu as celebrant. Interment in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or St. Stanislaus Building Fund. The family will greet relatives and friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Arrangements by: Archer, Hampel & Kubiak Dorr Chapel

Auburn - Kenneth D. Holbrook, 29, of Auburn passed away unexpectedly on Saturday April 29, 2017 at his home.

Kenneth's is survived by both his parents Edmund J. Holbrook, Jr. of Charlton and Michele M. Lucier of Auburn; his stepmother, Bonnie J. Holbrook; stepfather, Richard J. Lucier; his beloved daughter Hailey M. Holbrook; seven brothers, Edmund J. Holbrook, III and his wife Jenna of Auburn, Kevin A. Holbrook of Millbury, Richard J. Lucier, III of Oxford, Ryan J. Lucier of Auburn; Sean M. Lucier of Auburn, Adam R. Lucier of Auburn, and Andrew J. Lucier of Auburn; his grandmother Elaine "Cookie" Merchant; his grandfather, Stewart Merchant;his grandmother, Barbara Fallone-Willette; and many nieces and nephews. Kenny is also survived by many cousins, but especially Nicholas Bandilla, Dena Porter, and Rodney Derosier who were like his brothers and sister.

Kenny was born in Worcester on May 18, 1987; he was raised in Auburn where he graduated from High School. After graduation Kenny attended Clarke University Computer Career Institute, where he completed training in Information Technology and went on to work as an IT Engineer for Cognitzant Company in Holliston, Ma. In his spare time Kenny enjoyed working on cars, going paintballing and building computers.

Kenny will always be remembered by those who knew him for his generous and caring nature and his enormous heart. He loved his family and he was an amazing big brother who always made sure his little brothers were safe and protected. Most of all Kenny was a great father who adored his daughter, Hailey, and he cherished every moment he spent with her.

Friends and relatives are invited to a period of visitation for Kenny on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, MA. Kenny's funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in the funeral home followed by a procession to Worcester County Memorial Park for final committal services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to a trust fund setup for Kenny's daughter: HAILEY HOLBROOK UTMA, TD Bank North, 460 Southbridge St, Auburn, MA 01501.
