Moses Allen Mouille was born 10 October 1922 in Palmetto, LA to Ernest and Olivia (Leger) Mouille. They grew up poor, Moses became a really good shot as they didn't have a lot of money for bullets, and Moses was often sent to hunt for food. He got into a lot of trouble in his early years according to his younger brother Charles. He lived with his oldest sister Leona before signing up to serve in the military on the 30th of June 1942. He was a sharp shooter and served in Germany in WWII. Followed by his service in the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. In between deployments he worked on movie equipment in Hollywood, CA and rode a motorcycle.
Side Note: these stories are directly from his youngest brother Charles.
I never knew Moses, as my mother did not know she was his biological daughter. We found him through DNA research. We discovered that he met my grandmother Helen (Kowalski) Vandewater through her brother Theodore Christopher Kowalski. They joined the military on the same day in 1942 and served together over their military careers.
Moses passed away on 5th of May, 1992 in San Antonio and is buried in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Born in Smithtown, Suffolk, New York on 24th of October 1922 to Steven and Ursula (Iwanowska) Kowalski. He was the youngest of three siblings his sisters Pauline b. 1914 and Helen b. 1916. He registered to serve in WWII on 30th of June 1942 at 19 years old. He served in Germany on his first deployment, and went on to service in the Korean War as well as the Vietnam War before retiring as a SSGT in 1971. He did not have children. He was married to Elisabeth Kallies and passes away from a heart attack on June 7th, 1974. He was laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, in San Antonio Texas.

Theodore C Kowalski of Copperas Cove, Coryell County, TX was born on October 24, 1922, and died at age 51 years old on June 7, 1974. Theodore Kowalski was buried at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery
