Janie was one of my best friends in junior high and high school. She found out she had an inoperable brain tumor while in basic training for the army, and was given 2-5 years to live. In that time, she married, had two children, divorced, and lived in Maryland, Virginia and Texas before returning to her home state of Idaho. She lived 8 years past her diagnosis, three years longer than expected.
Janie was a talented poetry composer, who was sweet, kind and inclusive. However, she did have a temper, and would not let anyone take advantage of her. Jane had the most beautiful brown eyes that really lit up when she smiled. She died way too young, and I miss her to this day.

Jane Marie (Torres) Ashmawee of Nampa, Canyon County, Idaho United States was born on December 1, 1973 in Caldwell, and died at age 26 years old on August 26, 2000 at Boise VA Medical Center 500 W Fort St, in Boise, Ada County. Jane Ashmawee was buried at Kuna Cemetery 1321 W Boise St, in Kuna.
