From Andrew Neil Fernstrom: My Memorial to Rene Ivan Prudeaux: Rene was my landlord, friend, sometime mentor, sometime tutor from about 2010 up until the time I left in 2016. He was strong, opinionated, but, above all, had a big heart. He remained strong until my last memories of him. He was a very giving man, to everyone in his life. I cannot imagine his entire story, or that of his beloved, kin, friends and associates. I hope he has peace. And, I hope God sees to it that right is done, in remembering Rene, his family, and those who his life has touched, in whatever way He deems fit. I remember Rene getting attacked by another resident. I was a client fromt the same clinic out of jail for a vandalism act. Rene, essentially, allowed me to live in his house for six or so years -- I can't recall everything like before -- until he eventually deteriorated. And, I was civil and gratious and played my part, but it was partly an act; the irony is I do believe I loved the man, and for all our conversations, I miss him. The incident was in 2013. Rene, to me, was a man who lost things in his life: loves, houses -- the family was invovled with buying and leasing to tenants -- and with that, tenants or housemates who had plenty of problems. I understand, because Rene told me, that he was no angel when he was younger. I don't believe Rene ever intentionally hurt anyone. The man who attacked him should never have been let into that house. And, Rene, ever trying to be my friend, or teach me a lesson, or whatever it was... allowed him in. I didn't want to be the one to openly act as if it was my house, but Rene told me not to worry about it and that he could handle it. In the Summer, around fourth of July, this man, who's name I still remember: Thomas Dillingham, struck Rene during a conversation they were having. I entered the room, attempted to fight this man, seeing Rene, on the floor, bleeding from a broken nose, was myself hit, lightly compared to what Rene indured. The yelling woke me up. Rene's seizure came a week or month later that year. 2013? Another man had died in that house previously, Johnny Taylor. I basically heard this tenant stumbling in his room, as he was seizing up, falling to his death, and went back to sleep. Johnny, I believed, wanted to die. It has been rumored I did something, but all I did was let him die and go back to sleep. With, Rene, proceeding Johnny's death, all I did was make my presence known, get hit lightly, and fall down. The family, Benita in particular, called me
