Sol Blaine
Sol's father was Samuel Blaine, aka Schlunil Balan (1899-1986). His mother was Sura "Sarah" Genis (1900-1951). He had 2 siblings, one of which was Lilian, the other Arthur. In the 1930 census, Sol was 8 years old and living with his family in Cleveland OH. Both of his parents were born in Romania. In the household were parents Sam and Sarah and sibling Lilly as well as his father's brother Ben Blaine. The family stated that they were Jewish and the parents immigrated to the US in 1921. Father Sam and Uncle Ben both worked as operators in a clothing manufacturing company. In the 1940 census, Sol was age 18, single, and living with his parents and siblings Lilly, age 11, and Arthur, age 7, in Cleveland OH. He had graduated high school and was unemployed but seeking work. His father was an operator in a women's clothing manufacturing. A survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941, he had served onboard the Pearl Harbor bombing, USS West Virginia On November 13, 1946, when Sol filled out his draft registration, he was a discharged veteran - Navy - and living in South Euclid, OH. He was 5ft 7 inches tall, weighed 147 lbs, his complexion was dark, hair brown, eyes brown. His mother, Sarah, was her next of kin. Sol married Shirley in 1948-1949. They had been married 54 years when he died. They had daughters Sara, Barbara, and Wendy. By 1992, Sol was living in Atlanta GA, where he died.

Ground training is done. The men went to Edmonton next to complete air training. My father was a navigator/bombadire, on a Lancaster. I believe these men were training for all aspects of flying.

Charles Torgeson Wheeler was born in Cheboygan, Michigan United States to Lillian Christine (Torgeson) Wheeler, and had siblings William Glen Wheeler, June Fredricka (Wheeler) Gillmore, Virginia M. (Wheeler) Gill, and Betty (Wheeler) Slaterline. He married Lillian Christine (Torgeson) Wheeler, and they had a child Virginia Marie (Wheeler) Gill. He married Audrey Wheeler.
