My father in the Marines. He was born in 1930 but lied to the Marines to say he was born in 1929 so he would be old enough to join the Marines.

Richard Grover McClendon of Lufkin, Angelina County, Texas United States was born on June 16, 1907 in Burke. He was in a relationship with Eula Gay Stanaland, and had a child Archie L. Mcclendon. Richard McClendon died at age 61 years old on June 1, 1969 in Tyler, Smith County, and was buried at Ryan Chapel Cemetery in Diboll, Angelina County.
My grandpa was the best ever! He was sweet, kind and soft spoken, at least until you got him mad. He used to sit with me and tell me stories and would take me hunting with him. I remember him standing outside of the little Baptist church preaching to everyone about smoking and how it would kill you. He died of lung cancer.
What a lovely human being.

Glenda was my stepmom. She was one of the sweetest people you could ever know. She was kind, sweet and loving.
I did manage to see her later in life but later lost touch due to my cancer diagnosis. I hoped she knew that I loved her dearly and still think about her and miss her so much.

Archie L Mcclendon of Diboll, Angelina County, TX was born on November 11, 1930 in Lufkin to Eula Gay Stanaland and Richard Grover McClendon. Archie Mcclendon married Glenda R. (Gray) Cox on June 11, 1971 in Angelina County, TX and they separated on January 16, 1980, and died at age 70 years old on January 4, 2001.
