2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

Ruby Batzold of Royal Oak, Oakland County, MI was born on August 4, 1907, and died at age 91 years old on December 11, 1998.

I knew Cy's wife Ruby Batzold from 1979 to 1982 when my father Al T. Stephenson was the pastor of Beverly Hills Alliance Church (on the north side of Detroit, Michigan) where Ruby was a member. I personally met Cy once. Cy was not a religious man and was not supportive of Ruby's beliefs, although Ruby prayed for him for decades. After my family left that church in 1982 and moved to Kentucky for another pastorate, my parents got a letter from Ruby in 1984 saying that the day before he died, Cy started being uncharacteristically kind to Ruby, asked her about how to become a Christian, and prayed to receive Jeaus. He asked Ruby to forgive him for making her life hard for so many years. They had a day of rejoicing and healing. The very next day, Cy went to be with the Lord.
