Carl Goettle May 13, 1913 - May 1975 West Alexander, Pennsylvania

Carl was married to Betty Freeland on December 20, 1937. He was 25 years of age and she was 14 years of age. They lived with her parents Herman E. and Helen B Freeland for a while at 2309 Main Street in Wheeling. He was 27 and they had a daughter named Helen Agnes who was 3 months at that time. He was working as a salesman. This information can be found in the 1940 U.S. Census. I also recall that he worked as a taxi driver for many years.

Philip was raised by Carl and Betty( Freeland) Goettle, his grandparents. His mother was Lucy Goettle Ressinger. She neglected to care for him and his grandparents took over the care for him at a very young age.
