I am one of Vicente Yanez great- grandchild Brisa, his son Luis Yanez was my grandfather, his daughter Angelita Hortencia Yanez de Martinez is my mother. I grew up living near and being close to my great-grandpa. My brother's and I called him Welo. He was a very friendly, loving, caring, yet strict man. We would go every morning before school to have breakfast with him and Wela (his second wife Fransisca). Welo would take us to school and also pick us up after school. We were so attached to them more than our grandparents. We have beautiful memories of them. On Friday's after school Welo would take us to eat at a restaurant and order anything we wanted to eat. Then we would go to his home and be there before the sun went down and went back in the morning to spend the whole day with them. Welo cared for us all, but he had a special bond with my brother Freddy( Jose Alfredo Martinez may he rest in peace). As my brother did for him. We really miss you Welo, Wela, grandpa Luis and my brother Freddy, and of course my great grandmother we didn't get to meet but we did know of you Hortencia Yanez Tijerina, I know that you are together in Heaven waiting for us to see each other again.
