Richard Collett-British lst Life Guards (Cavalry)
This is my grandfather, Richard Collett who served in both the Boer War and WW1. His unit was First Life Guards. He was a fine horseman and a decorated soldier. He was also a wonderful man. He was born in Oxfordshire in 1881 and died in England in 1961. I am very proud of him.

Montreville Gelette
Montreville Gelette/Gillett ..born in Illinois in 1844, married in Fillmore Co. Minnesota in 1867, served in 2nd Wisconsin Cavalry in the Civil War. Also lived in California, Iowa and Canada. Father of 13 children. I would love to know who his parents were.

Montreville Gillett/Gelette & Family
A photo of Montreville Gillett(or Gelette) & Family. I think this is circa 1894 but it could be up to 10 years earlier.
I know all of their children, but cannot identify them individually in this photo... so I can't date it.

2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
