This is a picture taken of Antionetta Tartaglini just after her arrival in the US from Sulmona. She was 18 at the time. When she first came off the boat, she was given flowers and a sash and a beautiful crown. She though, 'Wow, this is the way they great people here?' Turns out, everyone thought she was Miss Italy.
