My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Family is so important, and welcome everyone to discover more about them, their history, and share about their loved ones who make up the history of who we are!

Maude B Thomison of Caney, Montgomery County, KS was born on February 2, 1881, and died at age 86 years old on November 15, 1967.
Maude was my grandmother, and I remember her well. When we were little boys, my brothers and I, grandma would bake us cookies and walk a good four blocks to bring them to us while in her 80’s. She was such a sweet granny. We all loved her. When she had stroke, uncle Jack would tell me to “give grandma a hug.” She would look over at me so kindly. I was just patting her shoulder, so shy. I was little, but I hated to see that dear woman suffer. She was the center of our world and kept all the strands of our family together. Grandmas have such a magical power in that way. Some of us never met again after she was gone, and that’s a shame.
