I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth.
So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her.

My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.

Fred Douglas Crain
Fred Crain was born in December 1887 and died in August 1971. He lived in Pine Bluff Arkansas most of his life. He had three daughters, Freddie, Eirdie and Mary Jane Crain. He was a school teacher in Arkansas and was married to Nancy Barnett. He also had a son, Maxwell Brown, from his second marriage to Mollie Brown. Fred Crain was half Choctaw Indian and American Negro. He had 21 siblings. His youngest daughter, Mary Jane Hughes is still living in Jackson MS and is 95 years old as of 2017.

She was born in the Bronx, New York, as Sonia Phyllis Naomi Hurwitz to parents Ann Ritz (1908 - 1994) and Abraham Hurwitz (1906 - 1981). She had one sister. Abraham was born in Lithuania and Ann was born in Manhattan, New York. Entering the world of entertainment might have been inherited from her father Abraham since he was named New York City's "official magician" by Mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia during the Great Depression.
Shari married Stan Lipschitz or Lewis in 1953 and they divorced in 1957. She married again, to Jeremy Phillip Tarcher, in 1958 and they were married until her passing in 1998. She had one daughter named Mallory Tarcher who legally changed her last name to Lewis in the year 2000 and took over her mother's work with Lamb Chop.
Shari entertained millions and won her first puppetry prize on the CBS tv series Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts in 1952. NBC gave Shari her first network program called 'The Shari Lewis Show' which introduced the world to Lamb Chop and debuted on October 1st, 1960.
