George Thompson Dupre of Louisiana United States was born on September 4, 1903 at NYC in New York Foundling Hospital, and had a sister Agnes Lalonde. George Dupre died at age 76 years old on May 31, 1980 in Opelousas, and was buried at Saint Andrews Cemetery in Plaisance, St. Landry Parish County.
I would like to speAk to descendants of Agnes LaLonde of Krotz Springs. My grandfather, George T. Dupre, along with Agnes, were among the thousands of children who where sent out to several states for adoption or indenture. George and Agnes were separated at the train station in Opelousas, May 6, 1907, due to an mistaken identity. Another child named George was mistaken for my grandfather, and it was this 2nd George who was taken by the family who adopted Agnes, while George my grandfather was taken by Achille (Archille) Dupre and his wife, Emily.
Anyone who knew Mrs. Lalonde, whom I actually met, albeit only once when I was a young girl, may contact me at [contact link]. I would like to share with family members my story about my grandfather and learn more information about Agnes. I am most interested in learning as much as possible about Nellie, who is listed as the natural mother of George and Agnes. So little information is available on her. I believe that since Agnes was slightly older than George, she may have remembered more about her mother. George, having been brought to the foundling home the day after his birth, never knew her at all.

Agnes Lalonde of Krotz Springs, Saint Landry County, Louisiana was born on May 25, 1902, and had a brother George Anthony Thompson Dupre. Agnes Lalonde died at age 82 years old in August 1984.
