He passed away from pernicious anemia while in the Malay Military Internment Camp. His death is recorded in the UK World War II Civilian Deaths as occurring in Pasir Besar Estate, Temangan, Kelantan, Malaya. A note about the condition from which he died: Pernicious anemia is a type of anemia that happens when the body doesn't get enough vitamin B12, which is needed to make healthy red blood cells. When there isn't enough B12, the body makes red blood cells that don't work well and can lead to anemia. Pernicious anemia can be caused by a lack of a protein called intrinsic factor, which is needed for the body to absorb B12. Henry may have had an underlying condition that caused his pernicious anemia, and being in a prison camp with poor nutrition may have made his condition worse and contributed to his death. Prior to his death, he was a civil engineer and it is known that he had one son, John William, and had descendants because his grandchild has left a comment here.
