2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

She was born the daughter of a HoChunk Nation woman, name unknown. In the late 1800's-1900's the tribe was called Winnebago. Alice's father was a white man name John Ash & an honorary HoChunk chief until the pregnancy of Alice became announced. I have no further information except Alice is I'm WI Census bureau as a Caucasian female born to Mr & Mrs John Ash.
There is an Alice (Ash) Boland born December 21, 1899 in Wisconsin who was born to John Leslie Ash (1876 - 1938) and Aldace Etna Hagenbaugh (1874 - 1962. She had seven siblings: Imogene, Bernice, John, Gladys, Mary, Aldace, and Thomas Ash.
Alice Ash married Miran Thomas Boland (1901 - 1973) . She died on July 9, 1964 at age 64 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in La Crosse.
