Thomas Lefavour
Thomas Lefavour
Thomas Lefavour was born and christened in Salem, Massachusetts. He married Sarah (Sally) Morgan Howe, born 29 Aug 1803 in Beverly, MA, on 3 March 1822 in Beverly, and they had 8 children that I know of: Thomas Jr., Daniel Howe, Susannah, Lucy A., Joseph H, William, Helen aka Ellen, and Lydia Lefavour. Some of their children were born in Salem, Massachusetts and others in Athens Co, Ohio. Some spelled their surname as Lefavor. Thomas's wife died 5 Dec 1866 in King City, Gentry, Missouri and is buried there. Her son Joseph is buried in the Blaine Cemeery, Blaie, Whatcom Co, Washington; Helen in Knoxville, Marion Co, Iowa; William in Athens, Athens Co, Ohio; Lydia in the York Cemetery, Dekalb, Missouri; Susannah in Union Star, Dekalb Co, Missouri, and Daniel in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Fairfax, Atchinson Co, Missouri.

The Tombstone of Mary (Cooke) Lefavour
Paul Lefavor took this picture and sent a copy to me. Mary was christened 20 Oct 1723 in Marblehead, MA and married John Lefavour, b 1717/1718, there on 30 May 1743. He was born in Guernsey on the Channel Islands, England and died 26 Aug 1798 in Topsfield, Essex Co, MA. Mary died a year earlier on May 28 also in Topsfield. Her tombstone is particularly interesting because of the inscription on it, put there by her son, Amos. It reads: READER PASS ON, NE'ER WASTE YOUR TIME, ON BAD BIOGRAPHY AND BITTER RHYME, FOR WHAT I AM THIS CUMBROUS CLAY ENSURES, AND WHAT I WAS IS NO AFFAIR OF YOUR." Note: I have John and Mary's grandson Thomas Lefavour's picture on this site.
