She was married to Clarence Tysse at Crown Point Court House in Crown Point, Lake County, Indiana, and they were together until Clarence's death in February 1977. She has children Nancy (Tysse) Gill, Ruth (Tysse) Herr, Florence (Tysse) Heintz, Clarence Tysse Jr, and Thomas Tysse. Florence Tysse died at St. Anthony Hospital in Saint John.
