Daphne was very good friend of mine. She and I had a lot in common. She was very proud to be a part of the Joslins Teen Board with me. I spent a lot of time outside of high school athletics with her. One time she was babysitting two dogs and house siting. I stayed with her and in the mourning she and I took the dogs out into the ft.hills for a hike. She seemed fine and we had a great time. Every now and than I would find time (out of V.Ball season) in the winter to visit Boulder on Friday or Sat, nights. There was always a problem with people that she wanted to hang out with. Every girl was mean, I myself defended her to wits end. I know how this feels; however, I perhaps was emotionally stronger, I have two older brothers and one just a year older than I. He was Very Very tuff on me. She never showed much sadness to me. The last time I saw her she was very needy, like Juls your my best friend, you have to come with me and do this and that etc… . I had no clue how sad she was at all! When she was absent several times for Junior Board, they called me up into the office at Joslins and said she had passed. My brother was on his way to pick me up. I had a few things from her like a brush that had her hair in it and a shirt she let me borrow. I cried my eyes out for years after she was gone. I believe she visits me, does not scare me and she cant figure out what she did. She’s stuck and ask me to see her (by showing me her papers where she is at) every time I’m in Boulder. Why? I ask, I’m still letting her know that I care and ask WHY? She does not have an answer because I think she’s (or like to think) realizing how ridiculous and simply stupid she was. Anyways, she is in my soul and I carry a part of her everywhere. It goes on and on. I am glad I had this opportunity and feel free to reach out, open for anything.
