Kathy Nystrom

Glen R Andruss of Portland, Multnomah County, OR was born on December 21, 1925, and died at age 75 years old on September 30, 2001.

Elsie was my mother, she died when I was 7 years old. She had 6 children Gary, Mike, Jeff, Judy, Kathy, and Karen. She died in Wenatchee WA in an apartment fire. Mike, Jeff, Karen and Kathy were adopted into families. Our life was not easy, Elsie and Glen were divorced and Elsie raised the children on welfare assistance. She was not the greatest mother, we were left unattended to take care of our siblings, many times without food. we had to miss school to take care of each other. We were constantly kicked out of our houses because of not paying the rent. I would love to hear some good things about my mother. I am sure she had a loving side, had life not been so hard, maybe we would have seen it.
