2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

Michael is the son of John and Mary Illinski Lebo. His parents immigrated to the United States from a small down in Hungary that bordered Czechoslovakia. They lived on a farm in Proctor Vermont with his other siblings. Mike dropped out of school around the 8th or 9th grade working on the family farm until he followed in his father's and older brother John in working in the marble quarry for Vermont Marble Company in Proctor, Vermont. He entered into Ww3Ii two yrs before the United States officially entered and was on the first boat that carried American troops. He was a military police (MP) in Warrington England. There he met his wife at a pub that her friends family owned. Patricia Wilson would help her friend whos last name was Carr finish so they could go dancing. After Mike lost his lighter in the sawdust on the floor he accused Patricia's friend of stealing it. In response Patricia scolded him and right there it was love at first sight. He waited for her every night for a week at the pub and would ask her on a date. Patricia refused until one day when Mike told her a story of how his girl left him in the states and all he wanted was one last date with a beautiful woman did Patricia finally say yes. After the yes they fell in love while the war raged on and eventually married in the St. Albans Church in Patricia home town of Warrington. They had there first son Michael John before the end of the war in 1944. When the war ended Mike returned to Proctor Vermont and worked at the Marble Company saving enough money to buy a house. His wife Patricia and son Michael joined him when his son was 2 yrs old. When they arrived Mike and Patricia expanded their family by have a second son Paul Richard who was born in the Proctor Hospital in 1948. Patricia passed before Mike when she was hit and killed walking to tend to a mistreated dog, by painter Cecil Larson. Mike passed in 1982 suddenly of a heart attack in the the family home while sleeping on the couch as he never slept in the bed after his wife's death as she was no longer there.
