He was married to Bessie Platek, and had children Dana (Platek) Hickson, Deborah (Platek) Bailey, and Denise (Platek) Alvis. Daniel Platek died at age 91 years old on February 28, 2005 in Lancaster, Dallas County, TX, and was buried on February 28, 2005 at Laurel Land Funeral Home & Laurel Land Memorial Park 6300 S R L Thornton Fwy, in Dallas.
