She later married John Wayne Robinson, a newly returned army soldier in 1967, in Weatherford Texas, had a son, John Wayne Robinson, Jr. Rheba lived in Texas, Tennessee, and Florida. She was a gifted self taught seamstress and worked in the hospitality industry, a sewing factory, a nurse aide and was self-employed as house cleaner. She loved fishing, camping and had a spirit of adventure.

Johnston on April 10, 1982 in Tarrant County, TX, and died at age 61 years old on February 8, 2006 in Navarre Beach, Santa Rosa County, FL.
