Mollie told her granddaughter, Hilda (Cartwright) Plum, that when she was four years old, she and her family went to Missouri on a wagon train. She said that when they got ready to leave they couldn't find their dog, so after looking for a while they had to leave without him. The trip took four months. After they had been there for awhile the dog showed up.
