Rebecca Butler Finney married John French Finney on the 14th day of February, 1826 when she was nineteen years of age. She was from Monongalia County, Virginia, now West Virginia. Rebecca has been described as "a very haughty, beautiful and proud woman". Her father was Jonathon Butler who was the founder of Butler Mills along Killbrock and a prominent citizen of the area. Her mother was Sarah Morgan Butler whose marriage with Jonathon Butler was the first in Wayne County, Ohio.

The grandparents' names were Helen Josephine (Sositko) Henry Cook, Fred William "Bud" Cook (born Fred William Henry), Beulah Faye (Parsley) Tuttle Caudle, and Versell Elvin Tuttle.
Pamela was given a Catholic Medal (Miraculous Medal) when she was born by a nun named Sister Martha Marie. Sister Martha Marie was the boss of Pamela's grandmother, Helen J. (Sositko) Cook, the head cook, at Mercy Hospital.
