Hi I’m Pamela A. Budd-Ammons (maiden name Poe) the fourth sister to James L. Poe Jr (Jimmy). He was my younger brother but the oldest of my two brothers. Jimmy was a man of God who was saved by the Blood of Jesus Christ, he preached the gospel, taught Bible study, he was a part of an all male gospel group, he also served as the personal driver to his Pastor. Jimmy was such a talented artist, self taught harmonica player, self taught keyboardist, singer, song writer, self taught drummer, as well as a self taught barber. He was a high school graduated and he attended a trade school for underwater welding. Jimmy was the father of two sons, James D. Steely and James L. Poe the 3rd and one daughter Kamika L. Eunique Poe, he was also married twice. Jimmy loved his family, his last days were spent in the center of his children, his father the late James L. Poe Sr, his step-mother and all his family and loved ones. Unfortunately he didn’t live long enough to enjoy his beautiful 8 grandchildren, one girl and 7 grandsons, he would have loved them all. My brother was my best friend who lost his six year battle with lung cancer but I know he rest with our late mother Better J. Poe, our father and paternal grandmother Anna L. Nicholson. He is and always will be missed by his siblings; Linda Gains, Debra A. Alexander (whom my parents adopted), Angel L. Poe and his only brother Anthony D. Poe, our spouses, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. R.I.P. my love.
