2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!

My Dad, Eugene ("Gene") James Dunn, was the son of Peter and Catherine Hanten Dunn. Peter's ancestors had come to America in the mid-1800s because of the Irish potato famine. They're in the New York Census of 1856(?). Eugene had several siblings, including Edward C. Dunn (Maj. General, U.S. Army, Ret.), and Jean Dunn (a religious nun.) He grew up near White Lake and Pierre, South Dakota. My father married Gwendolyn ("Gwynne") Laverne Cave (1920-2004) in 1942, in California, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. They had met in southern California at a USO canteen during World War II. Their children are James Eugene Dunn (1945--), and myself, Patricia Catherine Dunn (1955--). My dad's grandchildren are Jennifer Ellen (1977--) and James Christopher (1983--). Dad loved golf most of his life, and often played with his son and grandson. He usually had a twinkle in his eye, and the Irish-American sense of humor.
