I am Patricia Rice preferably Pat I live in London, KY and I’m hoping to find out about my grandparents and my dads family that I never knew.
About my family:
My family is from Hyden Ky. We grew us raising gardens and they plowed the gardens with mules back then. My mother canned this garden food and we ate it during the winter We never had an inside bathroom until I was about 6 years old. Good ole days for sure.

My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Family is so important, and welcome everyone to discover more about them, their history, and share about their loved ones who make up the history of who we are!

My daddy taught me how to drive a car at the age of 16. He a Datson B2 10 It was a standard shift of course and I jerked him all of at first trying to get used to the clutch. I was young and I would laugh. He never gave up on me though. He made a good drive out of me. Me, daddy, and mommy used to go out to eat every weekend on Saturday to Long John Silvers. That was always fun and he’d let me drive on the way home on the dirt road. Those were the good ole days s and I miss those days and my daddy.

Claude Rice was my daddy. My daddy was a hard working man with morals and values. He was respectful of others and he was honest. His morals and values are instilled in all of his children today. He was a strong man He was a good man a man of integrity. His honesty and the way that he carried himself is my best memories of him. He was not an educated man. He grew up poor and he had to work and help with his younger siblings. My parents raised me the best that they could during that time. We were poor also. My daddy worked hard for his family and I can never remember a time of ever going hungry. We were raised hard but we were raised right and those are my fondest memories of growing up and of my dad. He was my hero and a good daddy.
