Ellen Agnes Gilmore (nee Cummins), born August 1865, Ireland, and arrived per ship to Boston 1885. Married John.F. Gilmore, ropemaker, 31 May 1891, MA. Ellen's parents given as James & Mary Cummins, thought to reside near Newmarket-on-Fergus/Limerick districts of Ireland. She had an elder sister (aunt?) Mrs. Bridget Brady, Back Flats, Parish of Greenough, Western Australia to whom she sent these family photos. Members of Ellen's Cummins family served in Massachusetts Regiments in the Civil War and later removed to Baltimore, Maryland. In 1942 Ellen (Helen) and daughters lived with her son John.F. Gilmore Jnr. at 56 High St., Suffolk, Charlestown

Name & date of birth on the back of the photo, 1 of 4, sent to Ellen Gilmore's sister Mrs Bridget Brady (nee Cummins), Back Flats, Parish of Greenough, Western Australia. Ella (Ellen) sister to Mary "May" Gilmore & John Francis Gilmore Jnr.(later Judge J.F. Gilmore of the Charlestown District Court). Both sisters unmarried in 1930 Census. Photographers F.F. John.F. Gilmore, born 1855, Waltham, Massuchussetts, son of Michael Gilmore & Mary Gilmore (nee Earl), married Ellen (Nellie) Cummins on 31st May 1891, Massuchussetts. Occupation as a ropemaker employed in the Naval Yard, Charlestown. Resided on Bunker Hill Street. Children Mary (May) Gilmore, bn.27 March 1892, Ellen (Ella)C. Gilmore, bn. 2 Sept. 1893 and John Francis Gilmore Jnr., bn. 8th Dec. 1896.
J.F.Gilmore Snr. died between 1925 -1930. His son J.F.Gilmore Jnr. rose to prominence graduating Suffolk Law School, Class of 1922, & Judge of the Charlestown District Court. Family also resided 24 Lexington St., Charlestown, 60 Chestnut St. Charlestown & 56 High St., Charlestown.

"Mary ("May") Gilmore, born 27 March 1892", Boston, Massachusetts. Eldest daughter of John. F. Gilmore snr. & Ellen. A. Gilmore (nee Cummins), sister to Ellen.("Ella") C. Gilmore and John ("Jack") Francis Gilmore Jnr.(later to become Judge J.F.Gilmore of the Charlestown District Court.)
Her name and date of birth inscribed on the back of the photo. The family resided on Bunker Hill St., Charlestown, where her father was employed as a ropemaker in the Naval Yard. Family later removed to 24 Lexington St., Charlestown, 60 Chestnut St. Charlestown and 56 High St., Charlestown.
