Eddie, it's been a long time since you passed but I found a few sentences near Christmas 2022 to remember you since 2010. I told you on the phone to STOP smoking but of course you wouldn't. We all have our vices, I know. Of all the guys you are with Linus, Duck, and maybe Geno. I've found the first 2 too late to contact as they slipped over the Rainbow Bridge before I could call them. Geno, I hope, will write to you one of these days. You were the heart of our body and truly your passion for life and living dangerously transferred to our living tissue. Our years as friends from 1962 - 1975 (when I went into the US Army) was unearthly, as the 5 of us evolved from the desert of existence to a savannah of rooted growth and teenage faced challenges. We were a great help to each other during those years, but the drugs and nicotine were always 'worst enemies' staring down from our shoulders. I wish all of that c*** could be expelled and our lives as old men would have been far more gracile and happier. Losing your Mom and Dad, the greatest folks, in 2001 must have made your life pitifully lonely, as it does mine more lately losing mine. But we tore pages from life with vein-rushed energy and we made the most of our arrested growth being poor and often needing 1 of the 5 of us to lead the way... into trouble or real fun. Together we were an entire plant for a brief period of time in discovery of our own seeded forest we all made together. What could be grander than that to a jealous God watching us?
