Johnny William Jarman, Jr. was called Junior and Gene (nicknamed by his maternal grandfather) by his family. His wife, Rachel Allene Hyde called him John. John and Rachel wed September 4, 1965 in Polk Co., Bolivar, Mo, where both were born. On November 4, 1966 they welcomed a daughter, Rebecca Ann. On June 27, 1970 they welcomed a second daughter, Ralene Audra. Both daughters were born in Wyandotte County, Kansas City Kansas. John and Rachel were divorced in 1972.

Johnny William Jarman, Jr. was the second of 6 children born to Johnny William and Nora Martisha (Stewart) Jarman- Mary Lou, Johnny Jr., Claude Estil, Troy Robert, Jerry Lee and Terry Roger. In the mid-1960's he worked in Kansas City, KS as a silk-screen painter of vending machines for Selectivend Corp.
In October, 1964, John was invited to dinner at the Hyde home in KC,KS where he met Rachel. September 4, 1965 John and Rachel Allene Hyde were married in Bolivar, Mo. They welcomed daughters Rebecca Ann on November 4, 1966 and Ralene Audra on June 27, 1970.
Mid-1967 Selectivend moved the company to Georgia, so John, Rachel and 7-month old Rebecca moved onto the Jarman farm, north of Bolivar. By 1970 the family was back in KC,KS and John was working in construction.
